The idea for the business sparked while Josh was working as an event DJ, and he quickly built his first photo booth from scratch. He juggled weekend rentals while maintaining a job at a large company until fate intervened - his job moved overseas, prompting Josh to go all-in on his business.

How He Started The Business

Josh Pather started his business by doing a ton of events, around 800 a year. People were so impressed with his photo booth that they started asking where they could buy one. That's when he saw an opportunity and created Photo Booth International. He helps people start their own photo booth businesses by providing everything they need in a turnkey package.

As for the costs, Josh started off with about $3,000. He spent around $1,000 on building the photo booth itself and getting the equipment. The rest of the money went towards graphics, a website, and the biggest expense was the photo printer. Initially, they used an inkjet printer, but it took a while to print. So they invested $800 in a photo printer, plus an additional $250 for ink and paper. It was a big investment, but it made their business more professional and efficient.

While having multiple streams of income might seem appealing, it's crucial to give your full attention to that one business and make it successful. How The Business Grew

Josh grew his business by focusing on a few key things. First, he made sure to understand all the capabilities of his photo booth and set up proper marketing strategies. He also emphasized the importance of having a strong online presence and using software like CRM effectively. Josh Pather mentioned that marketing doesn't always have to be expensive; you can get creative by reaching out to venues, other photo booth owners, DJs, and forming partnerships.

When it comes to manufacturing, Josh didn't have a background in it. He started with designs on paper and consistently improved them over time. As for the marketing channel that brought him the most deals, it was YouTube. Josh used videos to demonstrate what he was doing at events, and those videos helped him get more bookings.

And when it comes to scaling the business, Josh's secret was to partner with venues and other vendors. That way, he was able to expand and reach more customers.
