Achieve More, Be More

The Minutes Mindset

The point here is that when we plan out our day, we tend to think in blocks of hours, but thinking in hours can actually cause us to waste a lot of time.

You need to realize the profound value of time. Get the most out of every single minute rather than every single hour. 10 minutes is precious to you. This doesn't mean in 10 minutes you can finish an entire project, but you can at least finish a part of it or work towards it.

Use the breaks that you have, even if itโ€™s just five or ten minutes, to do something productive. You will be surprised by the amount of things you can achieve. Instead of wasting your time scrolling on your phone, you could clean your space, come up with new ideas, or prepare for whatโ€™s ahead.

Lily Pad Method

The only failure for any creator is to stop creating.

Whether it's writing, making YouTube videos, studying, coding, starting a business, or crafting sales scripts, as long as you keep making stuff, you're on the right track.

Normally, the conventional path towards working towards our goals is to do things in sequence. With the Lily Pad Method, you don't have to follow a step-by-step approach. You can jump around and still make progress towards your goals.

Ask Yourself:

1. When it comes to pursuing my goals, how might I be able to start in the middle rather than in the beginning?

2. When I feel overwhelmed by a particular task, can I leapfrog it and do something else that takes me towards my goals?

The Piano Precedent
Five year plans are inviting the universe to drop a piano on you. If you try to plan your life too meticulously, something is bound to come along and mess it all up. But that doesn't mean planning isn't important! Having a Horizon Goal in mind helps you start working towards it, just like that quote from Alison Wonderland says, "if you don't know where you're going then any road will get you there."

The Purposeful Approach

When we think of productivity, we automatically think of work, hustle, and making money. But it's important to take a step back and think about why being productive is important to us. It's not just about work, it's about making the most of our time so we can have more freedom to do the things that truly matter to us. It's about finding a balance between achieving our goals and enjoying our lives.

Soft goals play a big part in this too. Soft goals may not fit the traditional definition of productivity, but they're intentional and meaningful to us. Get things done to have more time to accomplish soft goals.

Ask Yourself:

  1. What are the soft goals that you want to aim for in your life?

  2. What are the things that someone else might not consider productive but for you, it's very intentional and satisfying?
