Play the Value Game
This is going to tell you your core beliefs and what your needs are.
Start off by asking yourself these questions:
If you could create your perfect team, what kind of qualities would the people on it have?
If you are designing your perfect day, what sort of work are you doing?
Where do you like to work? And this doesn’t mean the buildings, this means the kind of culture and atmosphere you find at your job.
Tip #1
Ask people in the industry you are interested in, what they think about their career and what is required to do it?
Switch your Strengths
Instead of looking at strengths as something your good at, view it as:
Strengths - Somethings that energizes you
Weaknesses - Something that grinds you down
For example, you might be really good at filling out spreadsheets, but it exhausts you and you don’t look forward to it. Whereas, networking and talking to people is something that energizes you.
This will help you find a career that gives you energy and will help you succeed long-term.
Lose Track of Time
Find out what activities make you lose track of time. When you are engaged in something and hours fly by without you even noticing, it’s a sign you’re in a flow state. Finding a job that allows you to experience that sense of flow can lead to a fulfilling career path.
